Lead Pastors
Jared and Amanda Patterson
Jared, a 6th generation pastor, grew up in Irving, Texas. Amanda, a 3rd generation intercessor, is from Paris, TX. They met at a Chili's restaurant in Irving and were married in 2002. They have 3 wonderful sons; Josiah, Mathias and Levi.
Jared is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and has been in full-time ministry since 1994. Jared and Amanda became Senior Pastors of The Bridge Church in Arlington, TX, in 2008. In January 2017, they returned to their home church, Firelife, and succeeded Jared's father, Gerald Patterson, as Senior Pastors.
Together they are members of the "Bethel Leaders Network" and are relationally connected to a network of revivalists who burn for God and His Kingdom.

Different from a typical Assemblies of God church (AOG)
The Assemblies of God is a foundational part of Firelife’s story as a charismatic church. So, we embrace the activity of the Spirit of God in our daily lives and we are anchored to Biblical doctrine.
The “Fire” that is in our name is a reference to how the Holy Spirit descended on the followers of Jesus on the day of Pentecost. Like consuming flames of fire, Jesus’s Holy-Spirit activity spread throughout the world in His people all the way to Irving, Texas.
The “Life” in our name is a reference to the life Jesus gives us.

Like Pentecostal churches, we are not cessationists. This just means we don’t believe that God turned off the more charismatic spiritual gifts after the early generations of Christians.

Evangelical Church minus the politics
Jesus taught revolutionary teachings of a new kind of kingdom, which were not directly political, so we refrain from political affiliations.
But like most of evangelical churches, the ministries of preaching, teaching and evangelism are essential for church family growth.
We also believe all doctrine is built upon the Apostles and the Prophets (Acts 2:42, Ephesians 2:20).

Our worship services are not for passive spectators. The charismatic nature of the Spirit infuses our Sunday services with an element of the unexpected.
